Well, DIEPART has it's own culture, inventions, terms and nicknames, and here we are going to try and explain who we are and the things that make us uniquely, DIEPART...
Here are some ideas DIEPART came up with which we seem to use exclusively for now... but who knows, they may become popular and spread out on their own!
DIEPART is a lot different then other groups out there... some of the things we do and don't do are very radical and wouldn't sit well with other groups, but we are very proffesional and we aim to keep it that way.

1. We don't conjure during investigations. Whether by open questions or through a digital voice recorder. We do this for many reasons:
Conjuring is like when someone sits down to a Ouija board and asks open ended questions like WHEN DID YOU DIE? WHAT IS YOUR NAME? WHY DO YOU HAUNT THIS PLACE? etc.
* We don't need to conjure to get really cool evidence.
* We find we get more evidence when we ignore things in a location than when we ask for things to happen.
* Besides if skeptical, why would you talk to thin air?
* We find we get more EVPs that come out of conversations between investigators during equipment setup then when we had conjured. Which goes to show a watched pot seems never to boil!
* Seems like 99.99% of all groups out there in the world conjure. Again, DIEPART is different.
* We find we get more evidence when we don't conjure because, like a child looking for attention who is ignored, that child tends to act out to get a "rise" from the investigator.

2. We don't buy into the whole ORB photo thing:
Basically, WE ARE NOT INTO DUST ORBS! Please go into a dark attic, an old basement, or even better, outside at night and take a powerful flashlight.. turn it on and watch the 1000000000's of small tiny dust and debris specs float thru your light beam.. YES THEY ARE MOVING .. now take your camera and take a bunch of pictures with flash and look at the photos... wow! It's an orb photo you will get... not too impressive.
SOME will be moving...
SOME will be see-through
SOME will have a smiley face in them...
SOME will be lit up like they are glowing...
SOME will be colored.....
These are 99.9% of the junk people are calling ghostly spirit orbs! *this is dust* Watch this dust it is movingggggggggggggggg though your light beam. Some people claim that if it's moving, showing a trail on film, it must be a spirit etc., NOOOOOOOO its moving dust. Try it, learn from it. Don't fool yourself. There's better evidence than dust orbs out there. Believe us, WE KNOW!
* A handful of our investigator's have actually seen REAL orbs with our own eyes at several DIEPART investigations.
* We only count orbs if our investigators see them and then get a picture of them.
IT IS VERY EASY TO CONFUSE THE TWO... THIS IS SOMETHING WHICH HELPS US CUT DOWN ON FALSE ORB PICS.

DIEPART is a firm believer in not filtering EVPs at all!
Here are some examples of DIEPART EVPs from other groups that took our EVPs and tried to filter them. (They sent them back to us and this is what we received) These filtered/slowed down EVPs sound horrible to us. It sounds very unnatural and robotic or fake...

Would be Perfectly readable &
Extremely strong volume or 5 x 5 EVP.
A weak EVP barely readable would be going the other way...
or a 1 x 1 barely readable occasionally readable word &
faint volume barely distinguishable or 1 x 1 EVP.
Readability 5 x 5 would be basically the best class A you could find and a 1 x 1 would be the worst example of an EVP you could find or a D.

This scale classifies the EVPs better providing more information than the old a b c class EVPs (( HAD )). The new RVS scale is even easier, the higher the number the better the EVP!

very low volume. Other times we have vice versa.

These highly intelligent tools have its basis on basically making a remote investigator.
These units let us totally monitor a room for paranormal activity without us being there at all!
We named these units after the Star Wars' extremely intelligent droid who could do translations from one language to another as an interpreter. Thus we use them to pick up EVPs and signs of paranormal energies, and interpret audio to EVPs for us.

Our use of the C3PO is a novel way to catch EVPs and images. We learned to use the audio software Adobe Audition to process the incoming extra amplified live audio right at the investigation.
Instead of using a handheld DVR, we can make sure we are getting the audio and wont miss a beat.
Several times we have used DVR's at investigations and the investigator came up with nothing from malfunctions in the cable or parabolic thus providing no data whatsoever in that part of the home.
Using a c3po changed that forever. Now we see the audio as it compiles and we can tell right away we are getting the right levels of audio not over or under modulated.

1.. Laptop usually the faster the better.
2.. An Amplified Parabolic Microphone used to amplify the faint & Fuzziest. read more here about the use of the parabolic in DIEPART
3.. Running Adobe Audition software 1.5.. We now also have Adobe 2.0 as well. But find Adobe 1.5 as working just fine for our needs.
4.. A Stereo male to male cable to connect the Mic to the Laptop input. We use stereo cabling as well as the program in Stereo for a richer sound processing after the recording is done.
5.. A nightvision web camera using software to detect motion in the room. When motion is detected the camera instantly takes pictures in the direction the movement is coming from. Also we usually do this in total light conditions as well as dark... in a controlled experiment.
6. Place an EMF meter turned on in front of the camera as well.
7. Place a thermometer in front of the camera as well.
8. Place a LETO experiment in front of the camera also. Leto experiment- stands for the Lighted Energy Tactical Observation.. It is used to detect movement in a room.. DIEPART is the only group using this technology invented by DIEPART in fact, read more here... about the Leto Experiment...

Here you see a c3po with its audio gathering device and webcam at Villisca house... This setup would capture anything on this dresser that could move or spike as well as EVPs and emf/temp changes.
This device is almost like having a remote investigator when we add an emf meter!
